YES. I TOOK A LOT OF PICTURES BECAUSE I WANT TO HAVE VERY GOOD MEMORIES OF THIS TRIP.

Have you heard about the Catalan process for Independence? 

YES, BECAUSE IN SCOTLAND THERE WERE A PROCESS FOR THE INDEPENDANCE AND THE RESULT WAS TO CONTINUE BEING PART OF GREAT BRITAIN. SO, I THINK THAT CATALANS SHOULD HAVE THE POSSIBILITY TO VOTE.

INDONESIA’S LAST ORANGUTANS

Sumatra, Indonesia

Angelo, a 14-year-old male orangutan, lies waiting for medical examination, in the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Program (SOCP) care center in North Sumatra. He was found with air-gun pellets embedded in his body, in a palm-oil plantation. Globally, the demand for palm oil (used in food, cosmetics, and as bio-fuel) is growing rapidly, and Indonesia is a market leader. The loss of their rainforest habitat, largely to make way for palm plantations, has brought orangutans almost to extinction in Indonesia. The SOCP has rescued some 280 orangutans from plantations, poachers and pet-owners, and returned more than 200 to the wild.

Translation: Àngel, es un orangutan mascle de 14 anys d'edat, esta assegut esperant el seu examen mèdic, a Sumatra al Programa de Conservació(SOCP) en el centre d'atenció al Nord de Sumatra. Ell va ser trobat amb boletes de canons d'aire incrustades en el seu cos,  en una plantació d'oli de palma. A nivell mundial, la demanda d'oli de palma( utilitzant menjar, cosmètics, i com bio-combustible) està creixent ràpidament i Indonesia és un líder mercat. La pèrdua del seu hàbitat la selva, en gran part per donar pas a les plantacions de palma, ha portat a els orangutans gairebé a l'extinció a Indonesia. La SOCP ha rescatat alguns 280 orangutans de les plantacions, caçadors furtius i els amos de les mascotes, i retornar a més de 200 a la natura.

Sandra Hoyn was born in 1976 and lives as a freelance photojournalist in Hamburg, Germany. She studied photography at the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg, graduating in 2005. She started working for magazines, NGOs and on her personal photo projects, concentrating on social, environmental and human rights issues. She worked in various countries in Asia, Africa and Europe. Her work has been published in Die Zeit, Chrismon, Der Spiegel, NEON, GEO, GEOlino, and The New York Times Lens blog, among others.

 Translation: Sandra Hoyn va néixer el 1976 i viu com a reporter gràfic independent a Hamburg, Alemanya. Va estudiar fotografia a Hamburg Ciències de la Universitat de aplicada, graduant-se el 2005. Va començar a treballar per a revistes, ONG s i en els seus projectes personals de foto, concentrant socials, ambientals i qüestions de drets humans. Va treballar en diversos països d'Àsia, Àfrica i Europa. El seu treball ha estat publicat al bloc Die Zeit, Chrismon, Der Spiegel, NEÓ, GEO, GEOlino i The New York Times lent, entre d'altres.

MY WORLD

MY FAVOURITE SPORT

My favourite sport is basketball. I have played this sport since I was five years old. Now I am fifteen years old and I play in the Esplais team. We train twice a week, every Wednesday and Friday, and every weekend we have a match, on Saturday or Sunday. One week we play at home and another week we play away.

My trainer is Bernat, a french coach. I like playing basketball a lot but I don't like watching it very much on TV. Two years ago my team were sub-champions of Girona, and we went to Girona to recive the prize.

MY WORLD

MY CARNIVAL 

This year in Carnival, I disguised of Snow Withe with my friends. We did not know how much will it cost, however, finally, we decided to buy that disguise. We were not going to be part of a big group, because last year we had many problemes with the people who were with us. 

First we went to the Carnival of Sant Pere Pescador, where we could see many people with original costumes like diving, oreo cookie ... For a small town there were many people. We wanted to see all the Carnival so we slept at a friend's house. So we could enjoy all the Carnival night.

Also we went to the Carnival of our town, Castelló d'Empúries, what was the following week. We went every day, friday in Empuriabrava and saturday in Castelló. We observed that there were many many people on Saturday night, because it was in Castelló. However, it is true that this year there was less Carnival floats than the last year, and I don't know why. Even so, this year was one of the best Carnivals I've spent together with my friends.
